• SYNOPSIS Ane Urrizburu is a young history and archaeology student who, driven by curiosity and passion, embarks on a journey to learn the ins and outs of epigraphy and the meaning of inscriptions in Roman society and today. On her travels through Portugal, Spain, France and Italy, she admires the most famous epigraphic collections in the company of experts in the field, discovering the more academic aspect of the subject. But she also goes a few steps further, entering the bowels of a museum, the excavations at an archaeological site, the workshop of a stone engraver and the mind of a creator of video games which aim to popularise history, to delve into the more mysterious, educational and human aspects. In short, the Ancient history experience in the words of its protagonists and of those who, today, continue to tell these enthralling stories encrypted in stone.

Between 2020 and 2022, it was part, along with partners from Spain, Portugal, France and Italy, of the European Consortium Valete Vos Viatores, funded by the European Commission’s Creative Europe programme, which led it to produce a documentary series on Roman epigraphy.
