• SYNOPSIS After the arson attack on the doors of the Sanctuary of San Miguel de Aralar, an unexpected response emerges: to rebuild them by hand and return them to their place through a traditional pilgrimage. What begins as the repair of an affront ultimately turns into a collective journey that brings together sea and mountain, past and present, tradition and community. Driven by navigator and shipwright Xabier Agote, and sustained by the spirit of auzolan, Mundu Berri Baterako Ateak – Doors for a New World follows the process of reconstructing the burned doors using wood linked to the construction of the nao San Juan at Albaola. As the journey unfolds, the documentary reveals how an act of generosity can transform harm into hope and turn a local story into a deeply universal narrative. Between wood and sea, between spirituality and culture, this film is a reflection on identity, memory, the transmission of traditions, and the human capacity to collectively rebuild what once seemed lost.
