• SYNOPSIS In 1820, amid Peru’s fight for independence, Catalina leaves the convent to travel to the Real Felipe fortress and rescue her brother Ricardo, who has been betrayed and trapped inside the besieged stronghold. Guided by an unexpected discovery and aided reluctantly by a doctor, she uncovers a secret tunnel leading into the fort. There, she falls into the hands of Colonel Moncada, a cruel man who manipulates, assaults, and taunts her with clues about Ricardo’s fate. Forced to survive in a hostile environment, Catalina must confront betrayal, suffering, and her own faith to escape and find a new path. Her ordeal profoundly transforms her, leading her to leave religious life behind and dedicate her future to educating girls.
