• SYNOPSIS Light pollution is on the rise in tandem with the spread of capitalism. The world is being lit up in the name of security and development. Yet darkness is the safe haven for those forced to flee their homes. This is a work —lan— in the night —gau—; Gaulana: a film about the people who, throughout the history of the muga, the border, have sought shelter in the darkness. Such were the prisoners who escaped from Ezkaba, who tried to navigate by the stars to reach France; also the Portuguese in the middle of the last century; today, the migrants attempting to cross the Bidasoa. Along that line that divides the territory there are small, unlit gaps, spaces where political and police pressure remains in the dark.
