Church of San Salvador

The Church of San Salvador stands at the highest point of Gallipienzo Viejo and is one of the key landmarks of the former settlement. It is a Romanesque church dating from the 12th–13th centuries, with a single nave and a semicircular apse. Remains of medieval wall paintings are preserved inside, along with a simple Romanesque doorway. Its elevated position establishes a direct relationship with the Aragón River valley and the surrounding site.
