The Government approves new measures to protect cultural sector workers

The Cabinet has approved a Royal Decree on social measures that complements the cultural support measures that are so vital if we are to continue fighting the COVID-19 crisis.

In compliance with the commitments made by the Ministry of Culture and Sport as part of its ongoing dialogue with the various cultural sectors, and the Government’s firm commitment to ensuring that nobody is left behind, the protection provided by the Royal Decree issued last May has been extended.

This means that the unemployment benefit for cultural sector technical and auxiliary workers has been extended to January 31st, offering unemployment protection for artists in public entertainment as well as offering extra unemployment benefits for the most vulnerable workers in the bullfighting sector.
