- SYNOPSIS A story about rhythm, resistance and freedom of expression. Asere Hop: Última llamada al rap cubano is a feature-length documentary that makes hip hop culture in Cuba visible from an intimate and committed point of view. Through Elephanto, a young rapper at the crossroads between staying and resisting or emigrating in order to create, the film portrays a creative community struggling against censorship and precariousness. The story is intertwined with the voices of other Cuban hip hop references inside and outside the country, exploring themes such as forced migration and art as a form of denunciation and identity. With a powerful visual proposal, the film mixes original music, interviews, archive and motion graphics inspired by graffiti, creating an urban and artisanal aesthetic. The narrative is structured around a poetic metaphor: a fictitious airline called Asere Hop, symbol of the desire to leave for a better future. Directed by Sheila M Berrio, a filmmaker with strong ties to Cuba, the work bets on a direct and human narrative, with a transmedia and international vocation. Asere Hop is an urgent and artistic journey, a call to listen to those who continue to rhyme even if the world does not want to hear them.
