The macho tradition still lingers on in the most remote and isolated parts of Nepal. When women have the period, they are kept apart from the community. They are regarded as impure. They certainly can’t climb mountains. The gods might get angry. To help throw light on this injustice, Edurne Pasaban joins an expedition in which five young people from the region aim to climb the sacred Mount Saipal, a gigantic frozen peak that dominates the whole region. Edurne provides her experience as a climber, as well as her open and positive view of femininity. Together they will open a window for change and hope for Himalayan women. This film shows the feminist revolution starting to climb.
