https://www.navarrafilmindustry.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/pastor-gorka-1-scaled.jpg38405760Joaquín Calderón has been trained at the Escuela Navarra de Teatro, at Arts Educational School London, at Teatro de la Abadía, and at ECAM: Escuela de cine y audiovisual de Madrid. In 2007, he directed the documentary “Sahara no se vende”, winner of the audience award at the Documenta Madrid ’08 festival. Later he continues his training with directors such as Montxo Armendáriz, Mariano Barroso or Benito Zambrano among others. In 2013 he created Arquetipo Comunicación and wrote, produced and directed “Caminante”, his first fiction short film with which, among other awards, he won the First Prize and the Special Audience Award at the Navarra Tierra de Cine contest. That same year he began to produce and direct the documentary “Sarasate, El Rey del Violín” which premiered in November 2016. In 2015 he takes an intensive workshop with the Cannes Palme d’Or winning Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami. In 2018 he premieres at the San Sebastian Film Festival in competition in the Zinemira section “Basque Selfie. He is currently in post-production of “Arte Flamenco on Fire”. He is also a founding partner of Melitón Studios, Director of NIFF (Navarra International Film Festival) and organizer of the first workshop in Spain of Asghar Farhadi. He also produces the weekly Cultural Agenda “Los Imperdibles” for Diario de Navarra Digital.
